Naturone - INSULIN RESISTANCE 10/05/2010
Q My doctor says I am have insulin resistance and could develop Diabetes and that my hormones are all over the place. Please advise me. Sally's Comment: IF you are suffering from Insulin resistance, you probably have PCOD which in turn has totally messed up your hormones. The hormone the medical profession is looking for when they give you a hormonal blood test at around 40 , is oestradial, because they think that peri-menopause and menopausal problems are due to oestrogen deficiency. However, oestradiol should be low in menopause (any age now from 34 on). The change has actually come from Progesterone deficiency which arises in peri-menopause once you stop ovulating. Progesterone will balance everything as it should be in your body at the age you are (as Nature intended it be anyway!!!!). Remember this therapy is prompting your body to heal itself, so do NOT expect instant success. We look at 3 months to get the total balance back. If your insulin is up, you MUST cut out all refined carbohydrates and sugar ... junk food! This is slowly killing you. Take charge of your life from now and you will regain optimum health. Supplements I strongly recommend are Omega 3 Fatty acids (salmon oil), a good, wholefood vitamin and mineral supplement (GNLD or Solgar) and an anti-oxidant formula. (You can order these on this site) Follow the Patrick Holford GL Diet. It is the only real healthy diet and address the problem of insulin resistance. Add Comment Naturone - How do I wean myself off HRT ? 10/05/2010
Q: I have tried coming off HRT before but have suffered serious withdrawal symptoms, so have gone straight back onto it. I know I need to get off this drug. Please help! Sally's Comment: Always come off drugs slowly. Your body has become used to them and you could have withdrawal effects if you come off the HRT too quickly. I suggest you immediately start using Naturone and then wean yourself off HRT over 3 - 6 months, whichever is best for you. Some people can come off fairly quickly without having withdrawal symptoms, others need longer. On a pill, it is easy , as you would miss every other day for the first month, miss 2 days between dose in the second month. miss 3 days in the third month etc. With the patch, you would cut a quarter out of the patch used in the first month. a half off the second month, 3/4 the 3rd month etc. The implant you just never take another one, but may use more Naturone for those months until you feel totally balanced. Naturone - Hysterectomy 10/05/2010
Q I am 34 yrs old. I have 3 kids and have had a full hysterectomy just over a year ago. Since then I have developed IBS and am still experiencing menopausal symptoms. I have recently had food intolerance tests in my local health store and results showed high intolerance to soya. The health advisor suggested it could be low progestrone levels. I explained that I am currently on HRT, taking 2mg of oestrogen. She suggested e-mailing you for advice. My symptoms are as follows: HOT FLUSHES, BREAST TENDERNESS, ANXIETY, LOW SELF ESTEEM, MOOD SWINGS, AGITATION, IRRITABILITY, FATIGUE, TEENAGE ACNE, HEADACHES. IBS I would be very grateful if you would advise me... . Sally's Comment ; Your symptoms are definitely showing horrific hormonal imbalance which is now known as “oestrogen dominance” Oestradial , the fertile female oestrogen, levels start to fall at menopause, and fall 40 – 60%, but progesterone levels start falling at pre menopause, and have plummeted to that of a man at menopause,. However, if you have had a hysterectomy at an early age, you are forced straight into pre menopause and menopause within a couple of months because your ovaries start to dysfunction. Once ovulation ceases (pre-menopause), we suffer severe progesterone deficiency. Without ovulation you produce no progesterone which is needed to keep oestrogen levels under control. We therefore need to take progesterone to bring back the balance. It is also the most important steroid hormone, at the top of the d4 steroid pathway, which is a precursor to so many other essential hormones in your body, including oestrogens Naturone - EPILEPSY 10/05/2010
Q My daughter started throwing epileptic fits after she started puberty. I am convinced these are connected to her hormones? Sally's Comment: Yes, Epilepsy starting in puberty may well be due to hormonal imbalance. There is certainly a lot of hope for your daughter's epilepsy if it is an oestrogen dominant epilepsy ... i.e. it started as she went into puberty. Progesterone has amazing results with this type of epilepsy. Supplementation with a natural progesterone for these children is vital. If she is stressed her need for progesterone will increase, as the stress hormones that are manufactured from progesterone, deplete her progesterone levels at this time. She must therefore double the dose during stress. She will soon be able to wean herself off her drugs. I must emphasize that for the first month or so she will go through a detox of oestrogen, and until she has done this she should stay on her drugs. The release of this oestrogen that has been lying dormant on the receptor sites will increase the oestrogen dominance for a while. My recommendation is to double the recommended dose for the first 2 weeks at least. |
