Naturone - Hysterectomy 10/05/2010
Q I am 34 yrs old. I have 3 kids and have had a full hysterectomy just over a year ago. Since then I have developed IBS and am still experiencing menopausal symptoms. I have recently had food intolerance tests in my local health store and results showed high intolerance to soya. The health advisor suggested it could be low progestrone levels. I explained that I am currently on HRT, taking 2mg of oestrogen. She suggested e-mailing you for advice. My symptoms are as follows: HOT FLUSHES, BREAST TENDERNESS, ANXIETY, LOW SELF ESTEEM, MOOD SWINGS, AGITATION, IRRITABILITY, FATIGUE, TEENAGE ACNE, HEADACHES. IBS I would be very grateful if you would advise me... . Sally's Comment ; Your symptoms are definitely showing horrific hormonal imbalance which is now known as “oestrogen dominance” Oestradial , the fertile female oestrogen, levels start to fall at menopause, and fall 40 – 60%, but progesterone levels start falling at pre menopause, and have plummeted to that of a man at menopause,. However, if you have had a hysterectomy at an early age, you are forced straight into pre menopause and menopause within a couple of months because your ovaries start to dysfunction. Once ovulation ceases (pre-menopause), we suffer severe progesterone deficiency. Without ovulation you produce no progesterone which is needed to keep oestrogen levels under control. We therefore need to take progesterone to bring back the balance. It is also the most important steroid hormone, at the top of the d4 steroid pathway, which is a precursor to so many other essential hormones in your body, including oestrogens Add Comment |
