Immune System
and the importance thereof in disease prevention and cure
If your Immune System is working, you do not get sick. That is the bottom line!.
Why our immune system’s are not coping at present is for the following reasons
Free radical damage. Our polluted environment with all the extra toxins, hammers the immune system, especially the “free radicals” which are unstable oxygen molecules wreaking havoc to the cells. Whereas in the past, the only free radical damage out bodies were subjected to was the end result of cellular metabolism, NOW we are inundated with 100 x more each day. They are found in the Air (fumes, smoke), Water(heavy metals, insecticides etc, other poisons leaching through to the underground supply from dumping) and food (additives, such as colourants, flavours and preservatives)
Insufficient nutrients. The way our food is grown makes it very deficient in nutrients desperately needed to combat this pollution (Anti-oxidants neutralise free radicals). Only organic food should be eaten, and supplements are vitally necessary now to cope with this free radical onslaught.
Hormonal imbalance. A lot of the pollution now is mimicking oestrogen. These are called “endocrine disruptors” and there are thousands out there, from ALL the plastics we are exposed to every day, especially cling-wrap, which is the worst of all: the agricultural chemicals which also accumulate in the fat of the animals we eat, other petro chemicals, such as exhaust fumes, detergents face creams etc. This now put your hormones out of balance in particular the Progesterone. This is serious as so many other hormones come from progesterone, eg Cortico-steroids, adrenalin, testosterone and oestrogen. This deficiency of progesterone leads to deficiencies in the Cortico steroid hormones which control auto immune disease, all inflammatory conditions and allergies, hence the unbelievable increase in allergies and auto immune disease. It also leads to an inappropriate response to stress because it effects the adrenal steroids too, panic attacks, excessive anxiety, worry etc. Seratonin levels are effected increasing the incidence of depression world wide (and the suicide rate).
Stress. Not only does stress increases the out flow of adrenalin and therefore the demands on progesterone levels, causing hormonal imbalances elsewhere…. leading to increases again of allergies, arthritis, depression etc., but it also depresses the immune system further, as it destroys the T-killer cells.
